Welcome to our house

I am a mother of two boys. This isn't anything special, just somewhere I can write about how our day went, what we did, and sometimes just how I'm feeling trying to manage two young boys.

Picnic Day 2012

So as part of our family tradition, we attended the 98th Annual UC Davis Picnic Day.  I've been going since before I even thought about going to college there and I loved attending it while as a student there.  It was a great way to hang out with friends, watch shows/performances, get your grub on, and just enjoy the sunny weather.  As a student I also participated in the event as my sorority hosted a food booth or an event booth.  After graduation, I continued to go back and meet up with sisters and friends.   As the years pasted, however, I saw less sisters and friends as many of our lives have changed and some have moved away, but the event still holds something for me.  So my husband and I thought a few years ago that wouldn't it be nice if we had the event as part of our growing family....we would make it a tradition to go, enjoy the day, and see what campus is like now.

Miles' first picnic day was when he was about 5 months old.

So we trek out to Davis each April and enjoy the event.  Miles had a blast this year, more so because he actually got to enjoy and participate in the activities.  He loved seeing the horses.  We were lucky enough this year a baby was just born.  Miles thought it was the coolest thing to see the 1 day old baby horse.  He loved watching the chicks hatch and seeing them run around.  He also enjoyed sitting on the quad and listening to (or in his case, dancing to) the music.  Caleb just looked at everything in amazement and awe.  Soon enough he'll be able to enjoy it like his brother.  Here are a few pictures form the day.

As I my life has changed the past several years with the addition of my two boys the activities that I have enjoyed during Picnic Day has changed and I see it now as an day my kids can spend having fun and learning.  Picnic Day holds all kinds of memories for me and I hope that with the years to come it will hold memories that I can share with my kids.

Self Portraits

So Miles had found the camera on my phone and how to take pictures with it several months back do there were always random photos of the floor and ceiling of our house. I would spend time going through my phone deleting those blurred photos of who knows what.

Recently however he has figured how to change the camera to face him. Only with my iPhone can he see himself and take the picture. So these are the self portraits of my future photographer.
