Welcome to our house

I am a mother of two boys. This isn't anything special, just somewhere I can write about how our day went, what we did, and sometimes just how I'm feeling trying to manage two young boys.

July Vacation - Monterey

We also made a trip to Monterey, CA.  Again the weather was beautiful and breezy.  We had a blast walking around town and going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  It was both Miles and Caleb's first time.  We went on a weekday so the crowd was smaller which helped make the experience better for the boys.   Miles was able to enjoy being up close to everything and having enough room to see what was behind the glass.

 looking at the baby jellyfish

 watching the albatross feeding

 The Jelly Fish....he loved this

 watching the puffins race

 enjoying the touch pool

Can you find Nemo?  In this entire tank they had one clown fish....every kid
that came up to this tank yelled "I see Nemo" I think they
purposely put only one clown fish in the tank.

Miles thought the eels were very colorful

 learning how the current works

 learning penguin calls

 SMILE!!

The Seahorses.  Miles said they still go "neighhhhh" just like regular horses.  Ha!

Caleb just loved watching the wave crash while Miles on the other hand thought it was too loud.

Watching as one of he big fish tanks were being cleaned.
Miles would wave at each diver to see if they would wave back....and hey did

We then had lunch at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company

Enjoying his Mac & Cheese delivered in the "Jenny" boat

Sitting where Forest sat on the bench

He enjoyed it so much that he asked every day for the next week or so if he could go back and see "the jellyfish and the other fish."  He can't wait to go back and I can't wait to take him and Caleb back for more memories.  In the end that's what it comes down to, that my boys are making great memories and that I can share in those moments.  There are lots more to come as we enjoyed every minute of our July vacation, I just have to find the time now to get them posted as I am back to work.  More to come soon.

July Vacation - The City By The Bay

To help stay cool in he sweltering heat that usually hits during summer in Sacramento, we decided to spend some time in the city.  We headed out to spend some time with Miles and Caleb's godparents and have some fun in San Francisco.  The weather was great, warm with a slight cool breeze.  Tim and I always said that if money was never an issue we'd move to the bay.  I love that you can wear jeans, t-shirt, and a light jacket in the middle of summer.  We picked up Uncle Yeng in Alameda and went to meet up with Auntie Janice for lunch.  Too bad she had to work and had to return to work for the remainder of the day.

 Waiting for our food

 MMM....yummy...

 I'm all done..

Caleb waiting for all of us to finish eating

 Uncle Yeng and Auntie Janice

Miles wanted to finish daddy's undon

After lunch we hung out at the park....where we then noticed the food trucks.  I think Auntie Janice was holding out on us....ha ha ha.  Miles had a blast playing at the park as they had a train to climb on.

playing on the playground at the park

Chasing the birds around.  Miles loved doing this and
probably would have done this all afternoon if I had let him.

We thought since Miles LOVES trains that he would enjoy riding the cable cars around town, so we got ourselves some tickets for the cable cars and sat and enjoyed the views of the city.  It was hard at first though since the cable cars get filled up so quickly when we transferred from one line to another we had to wait for three cable cars to pass before we could board.  He was sooooo devastated each time one came to the stop and he couldn't get on.   Once on though he had a blast.  We end took the cable car down to fisherman's wharf.
getting mad because he was being told he had to wait to get on

 Miles loved them too

We even had enough time to drive down Lombard Street.  It was beautiful as always.

July Vacation - Discovery Kingdom

So Tim and I finally took some vacation time beginning with July 4th.  Neither of us had really taken anything longer than a long weekend since Miles was born.  We had a San Diego trip all planned out for summer of 2011 but the news we received earlier that year that Caleb was to be joining the family changed those plans as it was booked for the week he was expected to arrive.  We didn't really go too far as we also had a family reunion this month which our vacation coincided with, therefore we did a few day trips and enjoyed just relaxing.

We has spend the first day running some errands for the reunion and getting things ready.  Day 2 was a trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.  Miles had a blast.  He loved seeing all the animals and shows.  Although a little hesitant at first he did enjoy the kids rides and was greatly upset that he couldn't go on an adult ride with mom and dad.  He cried the entire 1 1/2 minutes it took us to ride the ride.
