As our usual tradition we enjoyed our neighborhood 4th of July Parade with neighbors and friends. My husband had to work that day though so he missed he parade but was able to join us of fireworks in the evening. This year was Caleb's first year of watching the parade. We had great time hanging out with neighbors and chatting it up while waiting for the parade to start....it seemed to take forever this year. There weren't as many participants in the parade this year, although I'm sure to the kids it didn't make a difference...they enjoyed it regardless...they got to see the firetruck, the police cars, the animals, got splashed by the neighborhood swim team (the Stingrays), and got lots of candy.
Waiting as patiently as possible for the parade to start
Still waiting....
And more waiting....
Finally.....it started. I didn't get too many pictures of the parade
itself but did get a shot of these bikes as Miles thought they were cool.
This is how Caleb sat through most of the parade.
He would wiggle his feet and shake when he got excited.
In the evening we headed over to my aunt and uncle's house to enjoy some food and fireworks with the rest of the family. This year we got Miles some Pop-It's and he loved them (once he got the hang of throwing them hard enough that they would pop once they hit the ground.) Miles didn't like the fireworks at first as said they were too load but shortly thereafter forgot about the noise when he say "pretty" they were. He kept saying "that's a pretty one...another pretty one."
The kids also enjoyed the playing with sparklers. It was loads of fund had by all.
